Fostering Closer Relationships amongst ASCOLA Members in Asia
Hello, ASCOLA Asia. After successfully initiating a series of regional activities in fall 2019, we have now progressed into the second phase. The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly transformed our interaction methods, elevating the importance of digital services. Concurrently, the geopolitical landscape is also evolving as nations implement restrictive measures impacting international trade. Competition laws and policies are now confronted with novel challenges, including generative AI, necessitating further exploration and focus. As our scholars persist in their endeavours, ASCOLA Asia is committed to providing an intellectual platform and fostering networks by cultivating stronger relationships among its members.
ASCOLA Asia In-Person Activities Are Back
We are back! In Asia, countries’ borders remained closed for a long time and most ASCOLA activities, which include online seminars and workshops as well as What’s On, could be held only online. At last, the borders have opened and we have resumed flying and travelling globally. Our flagship event, the ASCOLA Asia Annual Regional Workshop, took place in Kyoto both in person and online (hybrid) on the 1st of December 2023. It was a joyous reunion where we welcomed new members at Kyoto University. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that the next ASCOLA Asia Annual Regional Workshop is scheduled for October 2024 in Tokyo. We look forward to continuing our tradition of fostering intellectual exchange and camaraderie among our members. Stay tuned for more details!
Building Broader and Stronger Research Networks across Asia
Asia has a unique market structure, and its countries encompass a diverse range of laws and rules and societal political backgrounds. From these, researchers can obtain an abundance of lessons and experiences. To explore these, ASCOLA seeks new insights and perspectives from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Given the dramatically changing market structure and the scale of challenges it creates, we need a consistent flow of new information and knowledge. We wholeheartedly welcome your input.
Welcome to the most exciting antitrust jurisdictions in the world.
